Pricision Privacy Policy

Clear information about how Pricision handles your data and protects your privacy.

Pricision (“the App”) provides a price testing and optimization service (“the Service”) to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores.

This Privacy Policy describes how personal information and other data are collected, used, processed, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install and authorize the App, Pricision can access certain information from your Shopify store through Shopify’s APIs and authorized Shopify functionality.

This includes your Shopify store domain, store name, store currency, app authentication and session information, Shopify access scopes, subscription and billing-plan information, product and variant identifiers, product titles, variant titles, SKUs, product prices, compare-at prices, and product images used in the merchant interface.

Pricision also processes order and checkout information required to attribute pricing experiment outcomes, including order identifiers, order numbers, variant identifiers, quantities, currency, and experiment tracking properties.

Storefront and Experiment Data

In connection with pricing experiments, Pricision collects and processes pseudonymous storefront visitor and experiment information, including:

  • A pseudonymous visitor identifier
  • Experiment assignments
  • Price-bucket assignments
  • Product identifiers
  • Variant identifiers
  • Displayed or assigned prices
  • Quantities
  • Product-view and experiment events
  • Add-to-cart activity
  • Checkout attribution
  • Paid-order attribution
  • Order identifiers
  • Timestamps
  • Revenue-related information
  • Experiment performance metrics

Pricision’s core pricing-experiment functionality does not intentionally extract or persist Shopify customer names, customer email addresses, customer phone numbers, shipping addresses, billing addresses, or payment card details.

However, Pricision may receive Shopify webhook payloads required to process app events. Depending on the webhook topic, these payloads may contain additional information supplied by Shopify. Pricision processes webhook data as necessary to operate the App, troubleshoot issues, and maintain event integrity.

Referral and Installation Data

Pricision may collect referral and installation-related information when available, including:

  • Referral codes
  • Install-related parameters
  • Marketing attribution parameters such as fbclid, fbp, and fbc
  • Generated event or installation identifiers

These values may be used to understand app installation sources, marketing attribution, and subscription-related events.

Information You Submit Directly

If you use certain early-access or upload features, Pricision may collect information that you submit directly, including:

  • Email address
  • Store URL
  • Uploaded image metadata
  • Upload-related identifiers and timestamps

Cookies and Browser Storage

Pricision uses cookies and browser storage for certain application and pricing-experiment functionality.

This may include:

  • A pseudonymous storefront visitor identifier stored in a cookie
  • Application session data
  • Locally stored experiment-assignment information

The pseudonymous storefront visitor cookie may persist for up to one year. Application session cookies may expire when the applicable session ends.

Technical Request Information

The App may temporarily process technical request information necessary to operate and secure the Service, including:

  • User-agent information
  • Request origin
  • Requested URLs
  • Request headers
  • Request metadata

This information may be processed for security, routing, bot detection, experiment assignment, troubleshooting, and application reliability.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the information collected through Pricision to provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service.

This includes using information to:

  • Authenticate merchants and maintain application sessions
  • Create, configure, run, and manage pricing experiments
  • Assign storefront visitors to experiment price variants
  • Measure product views, conversions, add-to-cart activity, checkouts, and paid-order outcomes
  • Calculate experiment performance, revenue, conversion, and profit-related metrics
  • Generate pricing insights and experiment reports
  • Manage subscription and billing status
  • Provide customer support
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Maintain application security
  • Detect and prevent fraud, misuse, or security incidents
  • Improve the performance and reliability of Pricision
  • Measure installation and marketing attribution where applicable
  • Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations

Pricision does not sell personal information.

Where marketing or attribution tools are used, they are used for measurement, attribution, and service-related analytics rather than for selling merchant or customer personal information.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We may share or transmit information to third-party service providers where necessary to provide, operate, secure, support, measure, or improve the Service.

Pricision uses Shopify services for purposes including:

  • Merchant authentication
  • Accessing authorized store information
  • Product and variant functionality
  • Subscription and billing functionality
  • Theme-related functionality
  • Cart transforms
  • Web-pixel functionality
  • Checkout and order-related experiment processing

Meta

Where enabled, Pricision may use Meta services for installation, page-view, subscription-event, and marketing-attribution measurement.

Information transmitted may include marketing attribution identifiers, event identifiers, store-related identifiers, and subscription-related event information where applicable.

Tidio

Where enabled, Pricision may use Tidio to provide merchant support or communication functionality.

Vercel Speed Insights

Where enabled, Pricision may use Vercel Speed Insights for application performance and telemetry measurement.

Other Service Providers

We may also use infrastructure, hosting, database, security, communication, monitoring, or support providers that are necessary to operate and maintain the Service.

We may disclose personal information where necessary to comply with applicable laws or regulations, respond to a subpoena, search warrant, court order, or other lawful request, protect our rights or property, protect users, investigate fraud or security incidents, or protect the security and integrity of the Service.

We may also transfer information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar business transaction where permitted by applicable law.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and operate the Service, maintain experiment history and reports, support merchant accounts, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, and comply with legal, accounting, tax, or regulatory requirements.

Specific retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.

For example:

  • The pseudonymous storefront visitor cookie may persist for up to one year
  • Application session cookies may expire with the applicable session
  • Shopify session records are deleted on app uninstall where implemented
  • Experiment, event, subscription, and other business records may be retained where necessary to operate the Service, maintain reporting, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations

Data Security

We use reasonable organizational, administrative, and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children’s Privacy

Pricision is designed for merchants, businesses, and professional users and is not directed toward children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that personal information from a child has been collected inappropriately, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, features, services, technology, or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.

When we make changes, we will publish the updated Privacy Policy and revise the “Last updated” date below.
